story
My name is J. Scott Slagle. I started playing guitar in college after I heard the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds Live at Luther College Album. I have always enjoyed music and played some instruments when I was younger, but it wasn't until I heard that album that I realized that the musicians are the ones that are really having all the fun.  I bought my first guitar, a Seagull S-6 from the local guitar shop in Stillwater, Oklahoma and began to take lessons from a local jazz musician.  The time demands of Architecture school made it difficult to play as much as I liked, but the guitar became the best way to take a needed break. After college I packed up and moved to Dallas, Texas to become an architect.

In the fall of 2006, I wrote my first song, “The End”, and a couple friends encouraged me to play coffee house open mics. A year later, my best friend asked me to write and play a song ("You Then You Now") at his wedding. At that point I decided to put together more music with the goal of creating a recording.  In March of 2008, I stepped into the studio for the first time to record "like dreams" a six song acoustic ep. I'm not sure where this may take me, but it's great to actually know where you are.....jss
